Although this is where we will be having our ceremony, there are many hikes to explore, and a beautiful drive through the Colorado National Monument.
Our Historic Downtown is always a nice treat. From the headquarters of Enstrom Candies, to all the micro breweries, Fun little shops, to art galleries. Just keep in mind, this is a small town. So almost everything downtown is closed on Sundays.
Love sourdough? Kulina Lani Bakery has the best bread in town. Get there early, everything is made fresh and they do run out. Do yourself a favor and try one of their sourdough pop tarts. Amazing!
Grand Junction is home to The Worlds Largest Flat Top Mountain, The Grand Mesa. This is about an hour drive from the city, but worth it. Our favorite hike is the Lost Lakes Trailhead, located near the Grand Mesa Lodge.
The Switzerland of America (Ouray) is located 2 hours from the Grand Valley, and is worth a full day trip there. Or get a place to stay. We love the Twin Peaks Lodge, it has it's own hot springs and vapor caves.
Palisade is one of our favorites. Just 15 minutes from Grand Junction, this quaint little town is full of Wineries, Orchards, Micro-farms, Lavender farms, Shops with local tourism in it's own little downtown, There are fruit stands galore, and a ton of microbreweries.
Some of our favorite spots are:
Restoration Vineyards
The Peach Shack (you have to try a breakfast hand pie, make sure they heat it up and give you the gravy that goes with it).
Maison La Belle Vie Winery and Eatery
The Distillery
Fidels Tacos
Palisade Rim Trail Hike
If you're looking for a real challenge, Hike up Mount Garfield. Many people hike this iconic mountain to prep for 14ers.
